Why Do the Same Triggers Keep Coming Back?

Achieving Union on the Twin Flame journey requires healing your core wounds related to true love. Since God created each of us as perfectly unique and divine beings, our consciousness is vast, layered, and complex.

Imagine that one of your deepest wounds around love is abandonment. This wound is deeply ingrained in your consciousness, making it feel real—even though it isn’t, because God never created abandonment.

Over many lifetimes, you may have attracted experiences of abandonment due to your belief in it. Such a wound isn’t healed in a single mirror exercise or a few moments of self-love; it’s a process.

Think of the abandonment wound as an onion with many layers. At its core, it can be completely healed, but you must first work through each layer. So if you heal one aspect and later find yourself triggered by it again, don’t be disheartened—this simply means you’re reaching the next layer that needs attention. This is progress.

Keep persisting in your healing, no matter how long it takes—whether years, decades, or even lifetimes. You are worth it. You are worth being free from the illusion of separation. The most effective healing tool that I’ve found over lifetimes of healing exploration is The Mirror Exercise. You can learn receive a step-by-step PDF guide of the Mirror Exercise in the Free Twin Flame Ascension Course.

Blessings to your Twin Flame journey,
Carmel.
